postheadericon Mariah Carey Rainbow Pop Music CD Review

I can describe the latest release from Pop sensation Mariah Carey for you with just one word… Outstanding!

This one grabs your attention right out of the gate with Heartbreaker and doesn’t let go until the very last note of the very last song Thank God I Found You, which by the way is another great track.

Pop music fans will recognize some of the well known contributors on the project including Dean Parks and David Foster plus a few other notables as well.

I give Rainbow my highest recommendation. It just plain belongs in any serious music collectors collection regardless of genre preference.

While this entire CD is really very good some of my favorites are track 2 – Can’t Take That Away, track 9 – Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now), and track 14 – Thank God I Found You

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Heartbreaker. Good stuff!

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta aka Lady Gaga was born on March 20th 1986. She is an American singer, songwriter and musician. Gaga was born in Yokers, New York but grew up in Mahattan. She got her stage name when music producer Rob Fusari compared her vocal style to Freddie Mercury and took the name Gaga from the Queen song “Radio Ga Ga”.

Lady Gaga learned to play the piano by ear at the age of four, and began performing at open mic nights by age 14. When she was 17 Lady Gaga was one of the 20 people in the world who gained early admission to the New York University’s Tish School of the Arts. This is where she developed her writing skills by composing essays about arts, religion and socio political order. She did however withdraw from university and never graduated. She then moved out of the house, and started hanging out in the Lower East Side doing drugs, and appearing in burlesque shows at dive bars with drag queens and go go dancers. Lady Gaga admits that her father couldn’t even look at her and she says ‘he just didn’t understand’.

By age 20 she began working with Interscope records as a songwriter. She has written songs for the pop sensation Pussycat Dolls. Akon recognized Gaga’s vocal talent, and signed her to his label Kon Live Distribution. She started to work on her debut album after that. She released The Fame in 2008 which supposedly was about how ‘anyone can feel famous’. Her first single Just Dance (nominated for a Grammy) was a huge success.

Lady Gaga was influenced by David Bowie and Queen, along with Madonna and Michael Jackson. Lady Gaga apparently got rid of her natural brunette hair and died it blonde because she kept being mistaken for singer Amy Winehouse.

postheadericon Michael Jackson Biography

The King of Pop has been forced to give up his crown. Yet, Michael Jackson was not losing all his charm and popularity since he already marked his name in every person’s heart. Born on August 29, 1958, Michael Joseph Jackson is the seventh of nine siblings, Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, LaToya, Marlon, Randy and Janet, who were all raised in a strict Jehovah’s Witnesses. But in 1987, Michael left the religion after the shunning of his sister LaToya. Due to the strict belief that forbids leisure activities, the children of Joseph Jackson and Katherine Jackson were all kept locked in the house, a tiny two-bedroom, while Joseph worked at night. However, the children secretly sneaked out from Joseph’s sight to practice singing and playing music. Eventually, the father who reportedly was physically abusive to his children knew and decided to be their manager alongside his wife.

The Jacksons’ musical career started as Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael formed the Jackson 5 in the mid 1960s. The group that was signed to Motown Records in 1968 has opened the road to success, especially for the lead singer Michael. After the Jackson 5 recording fourteen albums, Michael launched his solo debut “Got to Be There” (1972) includes singles “Rockin’ Robin” and “I Wanna Be Where You Are.” Furthermore, in 1979, Michael’s album “Off the Wall” has caught music fanatics and become a worldwide hit includes the #1 singles “Rock With You” and “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.”

Since the estimate year of 1979 up to 2004, Michael physical appearance has been changed drastically. He was reported of being addicted to extensive plastic surgery although he claims to have had only three operations. In an act of caring for himself, he explained that the first two was a rhinoplasty to repair a broken nose after a dancing accident in 1978, and the third was a surgical operation of a cleft in his chin. The operations affect his skin condition so that he often uses a mask or makeup to protect his face. Yet, it does not stop Michael to record another album and the next album “Thriller” (1982) has proven to hit the success even more. The album has been sold 26 million copies in U.S. and 53 million worldwide, and certified by Guinness Book of Records as the biggest selling popular music album of all time. Moreover, Michael received another honorable reward, as his “Billie Jean” video became the first black artist video to be aired on MTV. The singles “Billie Jean,” “Thriller” and “Beat It,” which are taken from the album, have also been noted in MTV’s most significant videos in history.

For his achievement in music, Michael has won numerous awards, including ones for his successful album “Thriller” that earned him 8 awards in the 1984 Grammy Awards. Despite his singles “Bad,” Smooth Criminal” and “Leave Me Alone,” the pop singer who is famous for his moonwalk dance move, also launched a collection of short films about himself entitled “Michael Jackson: Moonwalker” and an autobiography “Moon Walk” to add the success of the album.

Thanks to his many success albums that Michael was able to enjoy and spend his wealth over his personal dreams. Due to his “lost childhood” and part of him that not wanting to grow up, Michael was planning to build a place where children all over the world can fulfill their dreams of having a complete playground. He built and designed his home “Neverland,” tribute to Peter Pan and his magic place Never-Never Land, in a 2,600 acres land in Santa Ynez, California. It contains a small zoo and amusement park where he often invites children, especially sick and poor, to visit and have some fun. Michael loves children very much; sadly, the fact later hit him back as he has been accused of alleged child molestation. He was accused after being reported to letting the children to sleepover and occasionally shares his bed with several of them. “Why can’t you share your bed? The most loving thing to do is to share your bed with someone. It’s very charming. It’s very sweet. It’s what the whole world should do,” says Michael in an attempt to deny the charges.
